2023 Accomplishments and fundraisers:

January 2nd. 2023 - Received a $2,000.00 grant from the Giving Well Family Foundation to be used to purchase sinks, faucets, hardware for the cabinets needed in four rooms. We thank Jerry and Barb Graham for their gift!  

January 17th, 2023: Received a $200.00 donation from the Carrollton 3rd. Grade Elementary Students along with their Teacher, Ms. Catherine Green. The students had a "Dollar Drive" to support the CCAPL! 

February 2023: We received a grant from the Douglas L. Houck Charitable Trust in the amount of $10,650.00

February 2023: We received a donation from the Consumers National Bank for their Emplyee Jeans Day" in the amount of $400.00.

2022 Accomplishments and fundraisers

January 13, 2022: The Carroll County Animal Protection League was blessed at our January 13th, 2022, meeting by Michael & Michelle DiMura & Ruffles, by giving us a generous check for $10,000.00 to be used for the security system costs at our no-kill animal shelter. Michelle presented the check to CCAPL President Eileen Rohrer. We are so grateful for this gift and the DiMura's support and membership!

January 2022: Mary Jane Mlinac Estate gift - $20,000.00 

February 2022: Thrivent Grant-Sandy Schmucker and Georgette Poling - $362.00 and Thrivent grant $1,000.00 Sandy Schmucker; Douglas L. Houck Charitable Fund Grant - Stark Com. Fund - $10,700.09; Benevity Community Fund Grant - $49.91.

February 2021: We received a grant from the Douglas L. Houck Charitable Trust of $10,140.00 from the Stark Community Foundation. This grant will be applied to the FRP installed on the walls of some of the main rooms in the shelter.   

February 9th, 2021: The completion of the two restrooms work was done February 9th, 2021 by Contractor, Mike Clark at a cost of $5,700.00.  This was paid for by a monetary gift of $1,000.00 from an Anonymous Donor, $2,000.00 grant from the John H. & Evelyn L. Ashton Preservation Association, Inc., and $197.00 from the Blackbaud Giving Fund (Sherman Williams Co.) and the balance was paid by our awesome members!

May 18th.2021 - Completion of the FRP on the walls of the main rooms by Mike Clark, Contractor at a cost of $11,200.00.

2020 Accomplishments and fundraisers: February through December 2020:

12-2020: Received a $1,000.00 grant from the Stark Community Foundation from an Anonymous donor.12-2020: Received a $2,000.00 grant from the John H. & Evelyn L. Ashton Preservation Association, Inc. 12-2020: Received a $197.60 grant from The Blackbaud Giving Fund (Sherwin-Williams Co.) These grants have been applied to the two restroom projects stating in January 2021 and was finished February 9th, 2021. Plus, due to the generosity of our CCAPL members, and some donations from the public, the cost of the two restrooms was covered completely! 

2-6-2020 - Received the $10,230.00 grant from the Douglas L. Houck Charitable Trust from the Stark Community Foundation. This grant will go towards the installation of the ceiling tiles in 21 rooms and hallways.

1-24-2020 - Received the fourth quarter donation of 2019 from the F.O. of Eagles Aerie #2185, Carrollton, Ohio in the amount of $2,472.69. February 2020. Their donation was applied to the Trusscore, AZEK, and Kennel fan all in the kennel area. Thank you Eagles for your continued support!

5-2-2020 - Received the 1st. quarter donation of 2020 from the F.O. of Eagles Aerie #2185, Carrollton, Ohio in the amount of $3,391.40. Their donation will be applied to future construction or work done, once it commences at the shelter. Thank you Eagles for your continued support!

5-15-2020 - Received a check for $3,000.00 from Tom & Jan Kishman, Kishman's IGA for the month of March Fundraiser they did for us! Total for the month was, $3,366.09. Awesome! Thanks Tom and Jan for doing this for us! 

6-29-20 - Received a grant from the Giving Well Family Foundation in the amount of $4,113.75. 

9-1 to 9-30, 2020. Sanders Market, Carrollton, Ohio - Month long September fundraiser. Raised $702.19. We thank Sanders Market for doing this fundraiser for us! 

11-1 through 11-8, 2020. First week's intake for fundraiser at Woods Grocery, Malvern, raised $231.00. 

11-9 through 11-15, 2020 Second week's intake for fundraiser at Woods Grocery, Malvern raised $158.00

2019 Accomplishments and fundraisers - January through December 2019.

January 2019- Received the fourth quarter of 2018 donation from the Carrollton F.O. Eagles #2185 in the amount of $12,467.39. Their generous donation will go towards the ceiling grid installed in January 2019, and also towards the installation of all LED lighting fixtures throughout the shelter. To be started January 28th, 2019.

February 2019- Received a grant from the Stark Community Foundation- $10,190.00 - from the Douglas L. Houck Charitable Fund towards the LED lights throughout the shelter.

April 13, 2019 - Annual Spaghetti Dinner - Minerva Senior Center

April 2019 - The Onyx and Breezy Foundation paid for one spay and two neuters of cats for low income families in Carroll County. We thank them for their support and generosity!

April 24, 2019 - Received the 1st. 2019 quarterly donation from the Fraternity Order of Eagles #2185 of Carrollton in the amount of $3,018.65. Their donation will be applied to the LED lights installed through the shelter.

March 2018- Received a grant from Stark Community Foundation - $10,210.00 - from the Douglas L. Houck Charitable Fund towards the Electrical installation. 

January 2017 - Received a check from an estate of $3,000.00

January 2017 - Received a check from the Fraternity of Eagles #2185 in the amount of $2,915.18. This was the last check of the quarterly donations from them.

January 2017 - Received two check for $1,000.00 from anonymous donors- Total $2000.00.

March 2017 - Received a $10,603.00 Charitable Trust Gift Grant from the Douglas L. Houck Foundation, and this generous gift will be used towards the cement installation in the spring of 2017.

April 8th, 2017 - Held our annual Spaghetti Dinner at the Minerva Senior Center-great turnout!

April 8th, 2017 - Received a donation of $2,281.94 from the Fraternity Order of Eagle's #2185 as the fist quarterly donation for the year of 2017. We thank them for their continued support and generosity!

December 2010 current loan balance: $22,422.65. Our montly payments are $350.00 which our fund-raisers are applied to including our "Pennies for Paws" donation cans placed at area businesses.

As of December 7th, 2010: Our current cash assets are: $63,551.68. ($50,339.32 -includes interest monthly- is a restricted endowment gift from the C.C. Humane Society. We have until July 2013 to build the animal shelter on our present property or this money, plus interest, has to be returned.)

2009 Accomplishments:   (Note: We have raised: $23,067.39 from January 1st to December 1st. 2009.) Over $8,000.00 was paid to Hettler Engineering to handle EPA & ODOT requirements and site plans.

As of December 1st. 2009, the CCAPL has raised through fund-raisers, donations and grants, a total of $95,607.69. Although we do not have the entire amount because we put a down payment on the land we purchased, paid for the preliminary shelter plans, paid Hettler Engineering for site plan drawings, paid for the installation of the two-way driveway, and insurance for property. Note: So many of our fund-raising expenses were covered by members!
